Personally, I found it using the <locate> command.  I believe <locate>
is on the default install and the database is updated each night
by cron  /if/ your computer stays on.  Otherwise do <sudo updatedb> (and
wait a while for it to finish), then <locate rute>. (or anything else
you might want to find)
If by chance it isn't on the default install then 
<sudo apt-get install findutils> or <sudo apt-get install slocate>
(slocate is the newer replacement)
