ubuntu-server console resolution under vmware-server

Tomoki,

VMware tools are also required to properly handle the system clock on the
guest (virtual) OS.  Otherwise the guest operating system will rapidly lose
time.

You should always install VMware tools on any guest OS, regardless of
whether you are using a GUI desktop or not, if you want normal guest OS.  At
the lab we learned to always install VMware tools on our test servers.
