Well, they work with NO window manager, so I guess the answer must be
"yes", unless your alternative WM actively obstructs them.

Yes, but I had to use the radeon driver rather than the (installed by
default) ati driver. Let me know by personal mail if you need more help
than that.

One thing that I cannot get going, though I had it working with Dapper
on the same laptop, is accelerated X with the fglrx driver. I can get
the driver installed and X comes up OK, but something seems to be
missing, as bzflag is unplayably slow :-(

Do you have a special CD eject button, or are you referring to the
little button on the drive itself? If the latter, you may not be aware
that that button is disabled if the CD is mounted. Use the right-click
menu on the CD icon to unmount it, then you'll be able to eject it.
Can't remember if the "Eject" option on that right-click menu with
unmount first, I think probably yes.

I'm guessing not (or else it's included by default now), because pretty
much everything works.
