Clock screensaver?... continuing saga

Thanks for your reply. My "I don't know enough about screensavers..." is 
waay more profound than yours!

Just for the helluvit, I just [sudo] cp'd the 
/usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers clock.desktop file into 
/usr/share/applications/screensavers, and a file listing shows it's 
there [1]. In the file manager, however, the icon differs from all the 
other (presumably) gnome-screensaver icons, and no clock screensaver 
shows up in the listings under System/Preferences/Screensaver. Wah!

It does depend on kdelibs and kdebase-bin, so it might be a lot of bloat
from your point of view  :-( 

As you pointed out earlier this afternoon, some KDE-specific 
dependencies might negatively affect things; I vaguely recall something 
to do with kdeartwork, which wasn't exactly non-bloatful either, as 
well. But I'm already far out of my depth, obviously.
