CD-ROM automount

Hi everyone,
I've posted this issue before with no solution presented with pauses of
two weeks, so I'm sorry if you've read this already.
Since upgrading to Feisty I have had nothing but problems with
automount. First of all, the CD/DVD would refuse to mount point blank as
anything except root. And while I have that sorted now and can mount and
unmount the CD manually from the command line, nothing I do sorts the
automount out.
The corresponding line in my fstab looks thus:
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
/etc/init.d/autofs reported an error when started manually, so I had to
move the CD entry to /etc/auto.master, and the line says:
cd -fstype=iso9660,ro,nosuid,nodev :/dev/hdc
It now doesn't report an error, but it still doesn't automount either.
The permissions on my /dev/cdrom and /dev/hdc are fine, as I can mount
manually from the command line.
Please help me, as this is really frustrating and is proving a bit of a
problem to use SoundJuicer to rip my CDs!
Thanks!
Darryl
