Powernowd in a HP Pavilion

Hello ...

I'm not able to activate powernowd service on my HP Pavilion DV6000 notebook.
Ii always get the same error:

/etc/init.d/powernowd: 156: cannot create
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0//cpufreq/scaling_governor: Directory
nonexistent
 * CPU frequency scaling not supported

It uses a Turion X2 processor.

Is there any way to use powernowd with ubuntu in this laptop ?
