Firefox locking with YouTube

You want to ensure you've got flash9. point your browser at the location
"about:plugins" you should find flash in there somewhere. If it's
version 7, then that's your problem. 

This may have been installed in one  of two ways. 
     1. the plugin installed itself (or you installed it as a user) at
        some point in the past. In this case, it's in your firefox
        folder.
              * To remove it, press Alt-f2 and type ~/.mozilla/firefox
                and click run
              * Browse until you find the plugins folder and remove
                anything in there related to flash
     2. the plugin was installed with synpatic (or in some other way
        known to ubuntu). In this case, you may want to use the
        backports repository to get the upgrade (this will work for both
        dapper and edgy):
