Problem installing Ubuntu

I've seen some other users having this exact problem.  It is possible
that it is Edgy(6.10) causing the problem and not anything you're doing.
Can you get the 6.06LTS (Dapper) .iso from the Ubuntu site?  If so, I've
installed that on my laptop and the process was flawless.
