No. Answering a question and then getting nitpicked for not having
answered in the way that someone thought I should have is really annoying.
The OP asked which Debian binary should I install. I answered it's better
to build from source because binary compatibility is not guaranteed. IMO a
perfectly reasonable response to the question asked.
Someone else complains I didn't look to see if it was packaged for Ubuntu.
Fundamentally it was a complaint that I didn't do enough free work for his
tastes (that's what wasn't nice). whining about work I do for free makes
me inclined to do less of it, not more.
If you want a thoroughly researched response that includes not only the
answer to the question you asked, but also to the questions you should have
asked, then hire me as a consultant.
