Running Ubuntu under Windows/running a Windows app under Ubuntu

I tried it. And it didn't word has I expected (concerning the drivers of 
the VM). Seems that Virtual PC doesn't re-create a full machine with 
virtual material but use directly the driver of the host. So using 
windows with it runs well but using Linux has some instabilities

I recommend you use VMware Player or Server on Windows to run a linux 
under window. VMware Workstation if you're ready to pay for it.
