Palm Pilot no longer connects after upgrade to Edgy

There's been a change in how the pilot-link package gets the device
name, though I don't remember exactly when that change was made.

What does

 install-user -p /dev/ttyUSB1

report?  (Or any other utility from the pilot-link package -
install-user, called this way, won't hurt, despite its name).

If it works, did you set $PILOTPORT?
