update manager 404 error?

I can see that that probably would work. I was asking my question I think in
part because this is the first time I've run into a glitch like this with the
update manager, which otherwise goes about protecting me from myself flawlessly.
If it's still hanging up on the Canadian mirror after a couple of days, I'll try
changing the sources.list file as you recommend.
