texdoc not in texlive package?

Hi all,

I am trying to use tex and I just installed the package texlive on my
ubuntu edgy box. However, in the texlive guide, a number of times the
use of the texdoc program is adviced to get more documentation on a
certain subject.

Apparently, texdoc is not included with the texlive package, since if I
type:

bram at bram-laptop:~$ texdoc
bash: texdoc: command not found

Does anybody what is the alternative way to open texdoc queries using
texlive on an Ubuntu machine?

I know there is tetex as an equivalent which includes texdoc, it is
however strange if the livetex user's guide itself refers to the program
texdoc, without including it in a package for ubuntu.

thanks.
Bram
