That's not going to help if the us.archive.ubuntu.com server is
unavailable.

archive.ubuntu.com has address 195.248.90.35
archive.ubuntu.com has address 195.248.90.38
liem at minerva:~$ host us.archive.ubuntu.com
us.archive.ubuntu.com has address 195.248.90.38
us.archive.ubuntu.com has address 195.248.90.35

So us.archive.ubuntu.com and archive.ubuntu.com are the same servers.
