For GUI method
Under GNOME:
Go to System->Administration->Synaptic Package
Manager->Settings->Repositories
Under Your Ubuntu 6.10 tab:
Go to "Download From"
Change to "Main Server" then close.
and just "Reload" to reset everything.
If you are running Ubuntu without X. It should look like this under
your/etc/apt/sources.listfor Ubuntu
6.10.
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ edgy main restricted multiverse
universe
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ edgy main restricted multiverse
universe
