In principle you can use the traditional Unix method for copying text,
but I am not sure that you can use it since it involves the mouse:

First, select the text with the left mouse button
Second, paste the text into the other application by pressing the middle
mouse button (or scroll wheel; if you have neither, pressing both the
left and the right mouse button at the same time should work too)
