If you create it as part of the install process, then yes, it's
automatically put into /etc/fstab and used in future.  If you have an
existing /home, and _then_ start the install, I think you still need to
have the installer ignore it.  I just did that, but iirc, if you want the
installer to use an existing partition it insists on formatting it, so I
told it to use my /tmp (just because /home, /usr and /tmp are on an LVM,
and I needed it to use _one_ of those to include the LVM setup in the
installation) but not my /home.  Then I mounted /home after the install was
completed and modified /etc/fstab to match.
