Firefox slow at digg.com (have link to bug report)

Hi,

I am wondering whether any of you are experiencing this as well. My
firefox(es, both Ubuntu-installed version 1.5.x and my own installation
2.x) hangs briefly when digg.com is being rendered. And after it is
rendered, the whole computer is slow, scrolling up and down is a real pain.

It got worse after recent changes to digg's layout.

If you are experiencing a similar issue, I found this bug report:

Also, do you know of any pointers on how to solve this issue?

Notes:
1. New profile doesn't solve the issue
2. Deleting plugins doesn't solve the issue
3. Doesn't happen with Firefox under Windows
