No subject

OK, I downloaded the liveCD it wouldn't run, so I downloaded the alternate CD text installer.  Saved it to disc and ran it.  The install happened, it partitioned the drive so that I can dual boot.  When I start my computer now I choose to boot ubuntu and it starts and then freezes.

I can load xp still but I cannot load ubuntu?????

Please help.

I am running an HP pavilion m7480n, dual intel processors.
