ubuntu 7.04 on asus m2400 notebook

I got a serious problem on my notebook asus m2400,with Ubuntu 7.04.Its power
management  and sound card were not recognized correctly by my OS which was
installed with a configuration of acpi=off.I've tried to update my bios from
0206 to 0208,but it would still hang if I didn't set acpi= off.Does anyone
have some idea about these power management  and sound card driver on
Ubuntu?
