Problems with suspend on a fresh install

I didn't make my point clearly enough. My laptop has a wired and a
wireless interface. If I left the wired interface set up for DHCP, then
a later resume with the laptop not connected to a network would wait for
DHCP to time out on that interface before it completed. I solved the
problem by always disabling the interface I wasn't using. If I take my
laptop somewhere where there is no net, I disable both interfaces first
(safer anyway).
This should be automatable, I guess.
