Startup time of Firefox and Thunderbird

I'm running Feisty and I don't have time to do anything else when
Firefox or Thunderbird* loads.
What are the specs on your Computer?
*I'm running Tbird 2.0.0.6 from Mozilla as Feisty is still at 1.5.0.x.
I've heard that the Mozilla versions of any of their apps are faster
than Ubuntu's but I haven't noticed any significant difference in the
case of Thunderbird.
