Tether with Ubuntu

I have a Motorola Q and with Windows XP, I can use the Verizon Access to get
online via usb.  Now, I'm running Ubuntu on my Dell laptop and that app is
not available for it.  Is there any way to tether my Moto Q with Ubuntu?
