Ubuntu releasing beta software???

It is always a judgment call. There are release-critical bugs and bugs
that are not considered so important. A system as vast as Ubuntu can
never wait to be completely free of issues, because then it would never
be released.

Countless people have installed Feisty successfully, and it would be
reasonable for you to assume at first that this is an issue that is
local to your installation, instead of assuming everyone else is wrong.
Did you check that the CD is error free? Did you check in Launchpad
whether other people have the same problem?
