You mean, besides using what works?
If you really want 1024x768, go to System --> Fonts --> Details, change
to 72 dpi. This will allow you to use the 1024x768, but you may have to
adjust all the font sizes so you can read them. The default 96dpi seems
to force different screen resolutions than used by Windows.
