[OT] Dumb Problem in VFAT

My Storage device of 80GB was originally VFAT, which always got mounted
whenever I plugged it in the USB port. From the morning I was trying to
copy the Ubuntu 6.10 repository of 4 DVD ISO-s on it. And what was
happening that all of a sudden, the copy window was vanishing, with an
incomplete copy and some unpredictable behavior like changing of the
permissions and all. I was so flabbergasted that I actually thought of
reporting this as an USB storage bug to this list.
It occurred to me much later, that, all of this is happening due to the
4GB size limitation of a file on a VFAT file system, two of the ISO-s
are more than 4GB. I unmounted it. Deleted the partition with fdisk,
created a new one, made it Reiser with mkfs.reiserfs and remounted it.
Everything is working fine now.
Just reported for the fun of it.
