I don't have any feisty install near me right now, but I guess running
modinfo on any kernel module will give the answer to you:

$ modinfo xfs | grep vermagic
vermagic:       2.6.17-11-generic SMP mod_unload 586 REGPARM gcc-4.1

so, edgy uses gcc-4.1 and I suspect feisty uses the same.
