Desktop Icons for removable media not showing (was: Enable SCSI...)

Dave,

Thank you for responding.

I've verified that I do have SCSI support, USB hotplugging is enabled, 
and that /apps/nautilus/desktop/volumes_visible is switched on in 
gconf-editor.

But still, when I plug an SD card into my USB card reader, I get no icon 
on my desktop, or any other way of accessing the card.

Somehow before, in Dapper and Edgy, I was able to set it up so inserting 
an SD card would instantly appear on my desktop.

But I can't determine what setting I am missing now.

What else could it possible be?
