Feisty: Boot time errors and problems with udev/USV/hotplugging

Ubuntu Users,

Since I upgraded to Feisty, I've been having trouble with some USB
devices, particularly when it comes to hot plugging them.

My USB SD card reader, my USB Bluetooth dongle, and my Palm Pilot do not
connect.

My Wacom USB tablet works (probably because it is connected at boot
time), but it is behaving a little odd (the mouse wheel works in the
reverse of how it should).

At boot time, I get these errors, which I believe point to the problem,
although I don't know enough about what they mean to be able to do
anything with the information:

udevd [2649]: add_to_rules: invalid SUBSYSTEMS operation
udevd [2649]: invalid rule `/etc/udev/rules.d/10-udev.rules:3`
udevd [2649]: invalid KERNEL operation
udevd [2649]: invalid rule `etc/udev/rules.d/10-wacom.rules:3`
udevd [2649]: specified group nvram unknown

What might be the problem, and how can I solve it?

Thank you for any advice
