Best python editor ???

Try out Eclipse with the Pydev plugin (from
http://pydev.sourceforge.net/ ) I'm using this environment for a major
college assignment and I'm extremely happy with it. It's hardly
'lightweight' but it is very comprehensive. Might be good for you,
coming from a java background. Translates many Eclipse java features to
work with Python.
