installing ways

what do you mean by an alternate cd?? since i dont have a fast internet
connection, i cant download it. i got the 6.06 cd through shipit. can i also
get this alternate one by shipit?? i am not able to install from the
6.06cd, it proceeds till only 15%, and then disappears.
