thanks very much for this valuable hint.

Honestly I was not aware of this, until I searched the list
archives yesterday night.

I apologize for spoiling threads.

I wonder whether there is a
way to get the list mail in digests, while keeping mail threads
intact.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

In the meantime, I changed back to getting list mail one by one,
since I do not want to optically "kill threads" and
personally value proper threading very high to keep control over
the discussion(s).

I wish I had known earlier....
