Epson Stylus CX 3700

Hello !
I have googled about installing the aforementioned multifunctional 
printer/scanner on Ubuntu, but I thought there could be something new not yet 
on sites and forums... I have tried to install it and I got the message that 
says the drivers are not available, although it is listed.
I have the rpm drivers, which worked on FC5, but I don't know how to install 
them in Ubuntu - supposing that they could be.
Any pointers, please !!?
