Well, I guess when doing that, you're doing something different than 
easyubuntu does :)

The truth is that easyubuntu does the adding of mirrors, the 
installation of packages, and removes the added mirrors for the user. 
Then there's no difference between it and doing it yourself ( except 
that when doing it yourself you have to know which package to install 
for having your feature enable)

Automatix is quite different, it doesn't just download .deb packages but 
also some .tar.gz and choose itself where to put it. So that one is 
considered more instable than easyubuntu.

Since *I* know what I am doing when using Automatix, I use it and am 
very satisfied (I have been using it for a lot of my friends 
installation and they were pretty satisfied) .

So the OP can choose whichever solution he wants. Doing it himself, 
using easyubuntu (which I suggest) or using Automatix (which seems to be 
more risky)
