Use
aticonfig --help
or
aticonfig --lsp
to get the correct monitor names.

No, what I'm talking about doesn't change your xorg.conf. Just try
what I said; "man xrandr" to learn how to use it and/or use "System >
Preferences > Screen Resolution" in gnome.
