By default, and as long as there are no access rules defined in the
slapd.conf configuration file, OpenLDAP allows anyone (even anonymous)
to read and write to the DIT. Thus, you should be able to write to the
DIT even as anonymous.

Also, you can use the rootdn and rootpw configuration directives in
slapd.conf to specifiy the DN for the Directory Manager user and its
password.
