The driver download at http://www.soft32.com/download_178257.html offers
only Windows drivers. I think you have a "software" modem that requires
windows ( a so-called winmodem). You can try getting the script from
http://linmodems.org/
to see if the modem is supported. I suspect it is not. If you can get hold
of a hardware serial port external modem, do so, and save yourself a lot of
trouble. Such modems *always* work with Linux, and are simple to configure
with kppp.
