Great minds etc.:-)
After dropping the screen res to 800 X 600,(did we really think this was 
HiRes at one time?) which made no real difference I upped VideoRam from 
8MB to 64MB which still didn't cure the problem.
The problem doesn't appear to make any difference to the functionality 
of the machine it's just a little bit distracting at times.
