HP Printer Problem

oh, let me explain further...
there is a printer setup app, I selected new printer...
then proceeded to make the hp printer icon... that is where I start to
have problems..
its not allow me to use cups or I should say, the first line is URI
So, I enter the ip address: 192.168.0.11 ( yes, it does have a jetdirect
card installed )
then proceed to pick printer type, and give a name... select test
print.. NOPE.
Did not have this problem in Kubuntu... (none at all )
So, I am looking to set it up via the printer app, not command line
(Please)
trying to see, where I went wrong... or if its a bug.
