xubuntu: Can Thunar NOT start background stuff?

Excellent! That's it! Thank you for the reminder.

Interestingly (and expectedly) it's still installed on my system, all
upgraded and ready to run BUT NOT shown on the application menus.
(There's a LOT that's not on the menus -- plus there's a lot that's
annoying, such as each of the screen savers, each in its own useless
application menu item.)

Now I also remember several custom right-click menus I created for
rox-filer. This version seems to be more elaborate, so I'll have to
explore it soon.

So now I added rox-filer to a custom panel menu (along with all the
other good things I keep rediscovering), and I will slap my hand the
next time I accidentally choose Thunar. (It's easy to tell I launched
it because for some reason it's set to turn my desktop black, and
there's no desktop menu for customizing it. Surely that's a bug or
config issue, but I'm not in the mood to track it down at the moment.)

It's hard to get rid of Thunar's sneaky tendrils, especially since I
always seem to see the "save session for future logins" checkbox just
AFTER I've already clicked the logout button.
