xubuntu: Can Thunar NOT start background stuff?

The Ubuntu version of xfce4 used to use rox-filer ( which happens to be my
favourite file manager) :-)
You can install it with "sudo aptitude install rox-filer " ( or apt-get or
synaptic etc of course ) It is in the universe repository. Note that you
can make it change themes and icons by right clicking, selecting
Options-Types and selecting your preferred icon theme.
As you probably know, it is highly configurable. The "Help" function is
*actually helpful* , amazingly enough < insert appropriate emoticon here
