First, what are you trying to do?  If your trying to set up
a mail host for a domain, I would recommend using one of the
wonderful services online(fastmail.fm or mailsnare.com).
Your life will be much simpler.

If your trying to get that computer to send mail to a relay
host, I would recommend looking at ssmtp or esmtp.  Both
will only relay mail and very easy to configure.
