Changing partition sizes with LVM

You can do this with LVM.

NOTE: CHANGING THE SIZE OF YOUR PARTITION/LOGICAL VOLUME COULD CAUSE 
DATA LOSS. DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU LOOSE DATA!

   1. Did you create LVM partitions/volumes during the install?
   2. If yes you must unmount them before you can change the size.

You may need the Ubuntu CD in rescue mode to do this. Do some searching 
on LVM before you try this. Punching in the wrong command could cause 
data loss.
