it is personal preferance  to what  gui  you use,  they both have there pros 
and cons,
i like kde  over gnome cos most of the apps i use are kde,  so while i am 
installing about half of kde  why not use it.

Gnome is nice and is lite  not as bulky  as kde,  but kde has alot of eye 
candy and is similar  to windows(excuse me for swearing ) 
i have usedkde most of all  on other  distros  that i have used in the past.
but only went to gnome when i installed ubuntu.
but is more a personal  choice  what you use.
