Install and remove applications

Hi!

I just tried to includc the Mulberrry emailclient into the startuplist
of my applications.
Unfortunatley the old method to include applications manually there is
missing:
<path to application startupscript>
chooser for the icon
that'll do the job perfectly.
How do I include applications or scripts to the ubuntu
desktop-startupmenu which are _not_ listened in the package-list?
