dependancy problems since Edgy upgrade

Have you tried

sudo apt-get -f install

(just that with no arguments)

That will attempt to fix your installation by removing/installing what is
needed. Sometimes you need to run that a couple of times, and install one
or two packages as needed, but often it will resolve the situation .

It's also also worth trying aptitude, rather than apt-get ( aptitude is
smarter !)
