It's in Universe, so I'd ask the MOTUs.

Personally, I'd think it important enough to be in main (at least for a lot of 
server applications), but it's not there yet.  I'd suggest a fruitful avenue 
of approach would be to research what's needed to get it in main and then 
work to get it there.
