The most famous of these episodies must be the LG? CD burners, broken
"by a Mandriva release" because the Hardware manufacturer was using a
standard instruction in a non standard way. It did work in all
previous GNU/Linux distros, and on Windows, but that Mandriva (others
soon worked around it) broke them.
