USB refuses to work

Hi All,

I installed Edgy and my USB (flash) key and portable USB drive stopped working.

They work fine on Dapper (other machines in the house) so I know that
the hardware is working fine. Also when I connect my iPod (also no
longer recognised) it starts charging, keyboard and mouse work fine
via USB so I know the USB ports work...

lsmod|grep usb shows the following:

:~$ lsmod | grep -i usb
usb_storage 73408 0
libusual 15632 1 usb_storage
usbhid 42464 0
usbcore 130304 6 usb_storage,libusual,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd
scsi_mod 141320 2 usb_storage,libata
