Wine should be included with UBUNTU . . .

In my experience, Wine is more trouble than it's worth anyway. Even the
stuff that works i.e. MS Office and IExplore tend to crash at crucial
moments. There are adequate Linux substitutes for these anyway.  Stuff
for which there exists no adequate substitute tends not to work -apart
from a few simple games.

If you are the kind of person who can hack stuff, this may not be
entirely true but most of us just want to run programs that work.

This post assumes that wine has not improved out of all recognition in
the last 18 months.
